North Ave. Beach Cleanup 9/21/19

19 volunteers showed up to clean North Avenue Beach! It was international coastal cleanup day.

North Ave. was cleaner than usual, we collected just 33 lbs of trash.

The Plastic Shark volunteers have now picked up 397 lbs. of garbage from Chicago beaches and coastlines. THANK YOU to all that came out this year and we’ll see you again in a few weeks!

20 volunteers came out ready to clean North Avenue Beach!

North Ave. was cleaner than usual, we collected 46 lbs of trash this event compared to 126 last time.

North Ave. Beach Cleanup 10/13/18

16 volunteers arrived bundled up and ready to clean North Avenue Beach today!

40 degrees Fahrenheit didn’t stop us from preventing 126 lbs. of trash from entering the lake. What a turnout.

Montrose Beach Cleanup 9/22/18

A family, a sorority, a former marine, high school students, and more all came together to clean up Chicago’s coastline today.

Our target was Montrose Beach, where we were able to prevent 112 lbs. of trash from getting into the water.

The Plastic Shark has now removed 192 lbs. to date from Chicago beaches and coastlines! Stay tuned for our next cleanup event!

Incredible day! Our volunteers came together to collect 80 lbs. of trash from North ave. Beach! EIGHTY POUNDS. What a success!
